Reunion former participants
This year the 35th edition of the Dutch Junior Open will be played at Golf Club Toxandria. To celebrate this anniversary edition, a stroke play championship will be played on the championship course of the Dutch Junior Open for former participants of the tournament.
In 1984 the Dutch Junior Open was first organized as the ‘Toxandria Youth Weekend’. Young players from all over travelled by bus and train to Golf Club Toxandria to enjoy a weekend of golf and first and foremost to have fun. In the following years the level of the play evolved to such heights that the Dutch Junior Open now holds its own amongst the most renowned and best international amateur golf championships in Europe. Many former participants in the Dutch Junior Open such as Nicolas Colsaerts, Danny Willett, Thomas Pieters, Dewi-Claire Schreefel and Christel Boeljon now play on the US PGA Tour or European Tour.
Former participants in the Dutch Junior Open are invited to revisit Golf Club Toxandria and play on the Dutch Junior Open championship course on Sunday 14 July 2019. Although a lot has changed since the Dutch Junior Open was first played in 1984, one thing has pretty much remained the same; the golf course of Golf Club Toxandria, challenging and diverse, but always fair and rewarding to players who choose to use intelligence and precision over force.
The 18 holes stroke play competition is open to former participants of the Dutch Junior Open*. Participants must have a handicap of at least 9.9. A maximum of 90 players can play in the competition. Unfortunately competitors in the Zwitserleven Dutch Junior Open 2019 are excluded from competing.
