At 14 years of age, Atthaya Thitikul (THA) won the Zwitserleven Dutch Junior Open. On the second day of play she set a new course record for Toxandria playing a round of 64. The previous course record was 65, played by Christel Boeljon during the 2006 edition of the Dutch Junior Open. On the final day of play at Toxandria, Thitikul broke her own course record by playing 63. She won the Zwitserleven Dutch Junior Open 2017 with an aggregate score of -20.
Weeks before competing in the Zwitserleven Dutch Junior Open 2017 Thitikul had won the Ladies European Thailand Championship as an amateur. Last February, Thitikul turned 15 and won the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific after a four-way play-off. As a result, Thitikul has earned an invitation to play at the Ricoh Women’s British Open next August at the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in Lancashire and the HBSC Women’s World Championship.
